Is grocery shopping a chore you dread? There are so many options at the grocery store, it can be overwhelming deciding what to buy. Explore the grocery store with a nutrition expert by your side!

You’ll get hands-on experience checking out the nutrition labels of your favourite products, navigating front-of-package health claims and tips for savvy, budget-conscious shopping.

Frequently asked questions

  • Virtual or online nutrition counselling sessions are held on Jane, a secure online video therapy platform. There are NO downloads – just click and begin! Jane works on any computer or laptop, Android, or iOS device.

    Jane is compliant to the Privacy Laws in British Columbia (PIPA), offering bank-level encryption (SSL) and running exclusively through Canadian-based servers.

    If you have any questions about the format or software of virtual nutrition counselling sessions, feel free to reach out to me.

  • Many extended health care benefits cover Registered Dietitians. If you are using extended health benefits to pay for nutrition counselling, please check with your provider to confirm coverage amount and limits.

    Many group insurance plans (Manulife, Desjardins, Blue Cross, Sunlife, GreatWest Life, Green Shield, etc.) cover $500+ for dietitian services. If you do not have coverage, the cost of your appointments are considered a tax-deductible medical expense that you can claim on your income taxes.

    You will be provided with a receipt upon payment to submit to your benefits providers.

  • I am offering direct billing through Telus eClaims. For a list of participating benefits providers for dietitian services, please visit: https://plus.telushealth.co/page/eclaims/dietitians/

    If your benefits provider is not participating in Telus eClaims, I will provide a receipt upon payment to submit for reimbursement, if applicable.

  • I require 24 hours prior notice to cancel any appointment. Except in extreme circumstances, clients who do not show up for their session or who cancel their session with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a cancellation fee ($60) to the credit card on file.

    For late arrivals, sessions will end at the scheduled time, and the full fee will be charged.

  • Payments are available through e-transfer or credit card. E-transfer payments are preferred and free through most Canadian banks. Credit card payments are processed through Stripe and subject to an additional 2.75% transaction fee.

    Please note credit card information is collected to book and reserve a session. This card will not be charged until the end of the session.

  • I currently offer in-person nutrition counselling in Sidney and online services throughout British Columbia.

    I offer a complimentary and confidential consultation to see if I am the right dietitian for you. Please contact me or schedule directly on my online booking site. This meeting lasts about 15 minutes and will be your opportunity to ask any questions. From there, we can schedule our first session if you would like to proceed.
